Job summary

A-Gas Americas is seeking a Warehouse Packager - Material Handler for the 2nd shift to operate packaging equipment, manage cylinders, and support safe, efficient production. The role involves following SOPs, coordinating with logistics, and ensuring quality control to meet production targets.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or equivalent and EPA 608 Certification. The position requires full-time hours with potential overtime on weekdays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA 608 Certification required.
• Must be able to work at least 40 hours per week and overtime.
• Must have high attention to detail to receive, inspect, and certify incoming/outgoing cylinders.
• Must follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Must handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders.
• Previous experience with compressed gas and/or gas cylinders is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Operate packaging equipment and related warehousing equipment, including forklifts.
• Report faults and maintenance issues to ensure safety and quality.
• Support health and safety culture to maintain a safe work environment.
• Follow company policies on health and safety; perform tasks safely according to SOPs.
• Communicate with logistics to ensure correct bulk and packaged deliveries.
• Conduct quality checks and assure compliance with AK/WA processes.
• Inspect incoming products and materials and verify drums as needed.
• Prepare, fill, pick, and dispatch cylinders; perform related operational tasks.

The Packager

The Packager is responsible for all production activities under the packaging program. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the packaging process including production performance to ensure that production targets are met.

Starting pay based on previous material handling experience

Key Responsibilities

• Operating packaging equipment; including process pumps, compressors, warehousing equipment, and forklifts.
• Report any faults and maintenance issues to ensure site safety and product quality.
• Encourage and participate in a Health and Safety culture to ensure a safe working environment.
• Work in accordance with all company policies relating to health and safety and carry out tasks in a safe manner as detailed in the standard operational procedures, so as to protect the health and safety of yourself and others.
• Communicate with logistics to ensure that all bulk and packaged deliveries are executed in accordance with customer requirements.
• Responsible for ensuring that quality control is implemented on a constant basis. Personally follow all operational processes and carry out quality control checks and ensure the close inspection of work activities of the team. Reinforce the importance of the Awareness policy to site personnel, in order to keep the smooth and safe running of workshop operations.
• Carry out checks of incoming products and materials, and site generated AHRI and customer drums.
• Carry out operational activities including preparing, filling, picking, and dispatching cylinders.
• Any other tasks, as required

Experience, Knowledge, and Qualification

Essential

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Must be able to obtain EPA 608 Certification
• Must be available to work at least 40 hours per week and be available for overtime hours
• Must have high attention to detail to receive, inspect, and certify incoming and outgoing cylinders
• Must be able to follow standard operating procedures
• Must be able to handle high-pressure and liquid cylinders
• Previous experience working with compressed gas and/or gas cylinders is a plus

Physical Requirements

• Constantly works in environments with uncontrolled climate and frequent exposure to outdoor weather conditions
• Frequently operates a computer using a traditional keyboard to input detailed information such as serial numbers
• Frequently drives a motorized vehicle or powered industrial truck (i.e. Forklift) and safely mauver in restrictive spaces
• Stooping and kneeling up to 20% of the day
• Frequently pushes, pulls, moves and/or lifts up to 50 pounds independently
• Sitting 10% of the day; standing and/or walking 80-90% of the time
• Lifting/Carrying from one level to another approximately 20%
• Occasionally moves cylinders that weigh up to 200 pounds with four-wheel cart
