Job summary

Flowserve US Inc is looking for a Packager to join our Packaging Department in Hastings, Nebraska. The Packager will be responsible for preparing finished products for shipment, ensuring quality, and working safely in a high-noise environment.

Job description

Role Summary

This position works primarily in the Packaging Department and is responsible for preparing finished products for shipment. The Packager builds crates and skids, boxes parts, and verifies final products to ensure accuracy, quality, and safe delivery to customers. The role regularly requires working near moving mechanical parts and in a high-noise manufacturing environment, with occasional exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and vibration. The Packager must follow all safety, quality, and company procedures while working efficiently with minimal supervision. This is a 1st shift position: Monday through Friday, 6:00AM to 2:30PM.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for quality of work performed; work efficiently and to required specifications with minimal supervision.
  • Understand and operate equipment properly and safely.
  • Work in a high noise level environment.
  • Package products and build skids.
  • Use saws, tape measures, and nail guns.
  • Respond quickly and handle abnormal production tasks.
  • Wear safety protection according to company policy.
  • Adhere to safe work habits, rules, and practices, including the correct use of tools, machines, safety devices and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly workplace.
  • Exhibit behaviors that contribute toward an environment that encourages teambuilding, decision making, problem-solving and continuous improvement.
  • Read and understand both verbal and written instructions.
  • Participate in CIP activities as required and comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures.
  • Understand and apply SPP and QA requirements.
  • Communicate effectively, presenting in one-on-one and in small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
  • Perform basic arithmetic operations in all units of measure.
  • Stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Walk occasionally; stretch, twist, use manual dexterity, and lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Maintain visual acuity for close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
  • Work overtime as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Experience using tape measure, saws, nail guns.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • HS Diploma / GED and 3-5 years relevant experience.

  • Verbal Communication – Uses clear and effective elementary verbal communication skills to express ideas and request actions.
  • Planning and Organizing – Works with guidance plan, organization, and prioritize activities to efficiently meet business objectives.
