What does the role entail?

The Pacific Water Spa Assistant Director will assist with the oversight of the entire Spa function. This may include retail, fitness center, as well as esthetics and massage therapy. The primary role of the assistant director is to ensure optimum guest and employee satisfaction.

Duties include:
• Responsible for short and long term planning and the management of the Spa operations in the front and back of the house
• Implement and maintain sales/marketing programs
• Direct and oversee development of employees
• Hire, train, empower, coach and counsel, performance and salary reviews
• Assist in implementation of payroll, reports, forecasts, inventory and budget for the operations
• Coordinate Spa operations with other hotel departments to ensure efficient guest service
• Resolve customer complaints as appropriate to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and quality
• Implement procedures to increase guest and associate satisfaction
• Exercise quality control for both Services and Retail products
• Maintaining Hyatt standards of service and ensure their implementation
• Performing daily walk-throughs to ensure full compliance with Department of Health regulations and Hyatt Corporate standards
• Coach and counsel employees to reflect Hyatt service standards and procedures

Qualifications

Your experience:
• Demonstrated ability to effectively interact with people of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
• Service oriented style with professional presentation and proven leadership skills.
• Must possess the following strengths: high energy, entrepreneurial spirit, motivational leader, proven track record in high volume concept, effective communicator, effective in providing exceptional customer service and ability to improve the bottom line.
• Previous experience as Spa Supervisor/Manager/Assistant Spa Director required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Assistant Spa Director or Spa Supervisor within a Resort or a full service Hotel Spa preferred.
• Proficiency with procurement systems, payroll systems and guidelines, Human Resources compliance duties, and employee coaching and counseling.
• Refined verbal and written communication skills, including competency with Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher.
• A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment, including guests, associates, management team and owners.
• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and be flexible to work AM/PM shifts according to business demands.
• Experience with revenue management and profit and loss statements preferred.
• Candidates should be extremely detail oriented and organized.
• Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and administrative skills
• Candidates should possess proven leadership skills.
• The responsibilities include assisting in overseeing any area in the Spa.
• Duties may also include training, staff development and scheduling.
• Must have physical stamina to lift moderate amounts of weight.
• Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
• California Food Handlers Certification required.
• CA Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) Certification Required.
