Job summary

Substitute Teacher Service, Inc. seeks substitute teachers to fill in for classroom teachers as needed.

You will report to the principal or designee at your assigned location and deliver instruction according to the absent teacher’s plan, while maintaining a positive learning environment. Qualified candidates hold PA teaching certs or a Letter of Completion, clearances within 5 years, three references, a resume, and payroll paperwork for direct deposit.

Qualifications

• Valid PA Teaching Certification, PA Emergency Certification or +Letter of Completion (LOC).
• A clean PA Criminal Records check (Act 34) within 5 years.
• A clean PA Child Abuse Clearance History (Act 151) within 5 years.
• A clean FBI Criminal History Record within 5 years.
• TB test or chest x‑ray within 3 months.
• Three professional references.
• Resume on file.
• Routing number and account number for direct deposit.
• Two valid forms of Identification for I‑9.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the office upon arrival and reviews the day’s plans.
• Maintains ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
• Supervises student behavior during activities and meals.
• Delivers instruction according to the absent teacher’s plans.
• Provides instruction to individual students or small groups as directed.
• Protects students, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintains classroom management and professional conduct.
