Woods Services in Langhorne, PA is seeking a Special Education Teacher to design and implement IEPs for assigned students. The role emphasizes strong classroom management and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team to support students with developmental disabilities or related needs.

The educator will assess student functioning, develop goals, and monitor program effectiveness, while maintaining safety and high-quality instructional practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree required.
• Current Pennsylvania Professional Certificate in Special Education (PK-8, 7-12, PK-12, or N-12).
• Experience in developing and implementing special education programs and classroom management preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assess each student to determine function level and develop goals.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and participate in interdisciplinary team.
• Design and implement an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student.
• Develop and implement goals based on student functioning levels.
• Participate in the students’ interdisciplinary IEP team meetings.
• Maintain and utilize adaptive/assistive equipment and devices.
• Prepare and implement daily written lesson plans.
• Maintain a safe, positive learning environment and supervise all students.
• Direct and coach instructional aides and ensure implementation of procedures.
• Maintain certification and pursue ongoing professional development through trainings.
• Direct and coach classroom staff to ensure effective instruction.

Salary

Starting at $61500 / year - Up to $5000 Sign On Bonus

Job Summary

The Special Education Teacher is responsible for the design and implementation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student assigned to classroom.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for assessing the functioning level of each student and for developing and implementing goals and objectives based on this assessment.
• Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the program and participating in the client's interdisciplinary team.
• Responsible for the design and implementation of an Individualized Education Program (IEP) for each student assigned to the classroom.
• Responsible for assessing the functioning level of each student and for developing and implementing goals and objectives.
• Responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of the program and participating in the students’ interdisciplinary IEP team meeting.
• Maintains and utilizes adaptive/assistive equipment and devices.
• Prepares and implements daily written lessons plans.
• Maintains a positive, safe, healthy and controlled learning environment; ensures supervision of all assigned students.
• Directs activities of instructional aides and assures implementation of established instructional procedures.
• Responsible for maintaining this certification and for maintaining and developing professional skills by participating in appropriate training sessions and or/courses.
• Responsible for directing and coaching all staff members in the classroom.

Qualifications

• Either a Bachelor's or Master’s degree.
• Possession of a current Pennsylvania Professional Certificate in Special Education(Accepted certifications include Special Education PK-8, Special Education 7-12, Special Education PK-12, or Special Education N-12).
• Experience in developing and implementing special education programs and classroom management for students with developmental disabilities or related experience is preferred.
