American Paradigm Schools is seeking a dedicated 7th/8th Grade Science Teacher for its First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter School. This full-time position reports to the Principal and runs for a 10-month school year, supporting curriculum creation and alignment with PSSA anchors.

The role emphasizes collaboration with grade-level teams, ESL and special education coordination, and safeguarding student safety and well-being while delivering standards-based instruction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• PA Certification required.
• Experience aligning curriculum to state standards preferred.

Responsabilités

• Make a scope and sequence that aligns with the PSSA Assessment Anchors.
• Create weekly lesson plans aligned to state standards and current curriculum in coordination with APS.
• Grade and provide timely feedback to students.
• Communicate with team about school-wide and grade expectations.
• Communicate with families about their child's progress.
• Coordinate with ESL teacher.
• Coordinate with special education teacher.
• Build and maintain positive relations with students.
• Attend after-school events as needed.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of the students.

Position Summary

The science teacher is responsible for creating resources for our curriculum and aligning our curriculum with the PSSA Assessment Anchors. The science teacher also works as part of a grade level team to coordinate school wide efforts in order to meet the goals of the school in service to the scholars.
