The City of Deer Park is seeking a versatile Parks Maintenance Worker to perform unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of parks, open spaces, grounds, turf and related facilities. The role requires physical stamina, the ability to lift heavy objects, operate lawn and landscaping equipment, and work under supervision to complete daily activities on a schedule.

Performs a variety of unskilled and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and operation of parks, open spaces, grounds, turf and related facilities.
Works under the immediate supervision of either the Park Operations Crew Leader, Equipment Operator I, Equipment Operator II, Maintenance Tech I, or Mechanic II.

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Valid state driver's license or ability to obtain one within ninety (90) days of employment is required.
Pickup truck; lawn and landscaping equipment, including tractors, mowers, airifier, chainsaw, edgers, weed trimmers, electric motors, pumps, sprinklers, irrigation systems; miscellaneous hand and power tools for turf maintenance, carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, and cement finishing work; swimming pool equipment including chlorination system, pumps, boiler, valves, filtration devices, gauges ,etc; janitorial equipment including floor buffers, steam cleaner, carpet cleaners, washers, vacuums, mops, brooms, and dusting equipment.
