Job summary

Qualifications

Job description

We’re looking for a Field Service Technician III with strong testing and troubleshooting experience who are ready to take on challenging fieldwork across the country. In this hands‑on role, you’ll test, maintain, and commission low to high‑voltage systems at power plants, hydroelectric dams, and other industrial sites. You’ll work with relays, transformers, breakers, SCADA systems, and more—bringing reliable energy solutions to life. This is a great opportunity to develop technical skills and grow with a fast‑paced, mission‑driven team.

What You’ll Do
  • Test, maintain, and collect data on low, medium, and high voltage systems (480V–600kV), including breakers, relays, switchgear, cables, and transformers
  • Run standard field tests (TTR, insulation resistance, Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, DC Hi‑Pot)
  • Test relays (electromechanical and solid‑state) with minimal supervision
  • Troubleshoot control circuits, relay logic, and protection schemes
  • Function check control panels, trip/alarm circuits, and SCADA signal integrity
  • Read and interpret schematics, drawings, manuals, and one‑line diagrams
  • Keep accurate reports, logs, and equipment calibration records
  • Previous experience working in data centers, commercial and industrial settings
The Experience We’re Looking For
  • 5 years of field experience testing, maintaining, and commissioning power systems up to 500kV
  • Experience with megohmmeters, TTRs, contact resistance testers, and insulation testers
  • Familiarity with PowerDB or similar test documentation software
  • Strong understanding of NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and field safety standards
  • Able to read and interpret schematics and one‑line diagrams
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
  • Organized, safety‑conscious, and able to manage time and priorities independently
Additional Requirements
  • Flexible for overtime, weekends, holidays, and night work.
  • Able to travel frequently (75% with overnight stays as needed)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must successfully complete a background check and pre‑employment/random drug tests
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States

  • NETA Level II or higher certification
  • Apparatus (electrical MV, LV equipment testing, or NETA testing experience)
  • An associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Technology, Power Systems, or Mechanical Engineering
