Job summary

Freeman Health System in Missouri is seeking a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our outpatient behavioral health team. You will work with psychiatrists, nurses, and other professionals to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to patients facing addiction, substance use, and mental health challenges.

The PMHNP will be trained in trauma-informed care, promoting a warm, welcoming environment that supports dual recovery and respects patient dignity.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PMHNP program.
• Missouri APRN licensure through the Missouri State Board of Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric care to outpatients in collaboration with psychiatrists and the healthcare team.

What You'll Do

The Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) will work with psychiatrists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to provide psychiatric care to patients in the outpatient setting. They will provide services to individuals impacted by a variety of behavioral health (addiction/substance abuse and mental health) issues, recognizing that the individuals we serve often have experienced trauma that affects their development and adjustment and demonstrates a warm and welcoming empathic, hopeful attitude, conveying a philosophy of dual recovery. The PMHNP will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received.

Requirements

• The APN should be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and shall have successfully completed an approved PMHNP program
• Missouri APRN licensure through the Missouri State Board of Nursing
