Job summary

California Transit Services is seeking local driver-owners to operate out of our City of Industry yard in Southern California. You lease your truck and drive as a W-2 employee with a dedicated equipment lease, earning 65% of linehaul revenue while CTS retains 35%.

This is full-time, local work with year-round demand, daily home time, and no hidden fees. You will handle dry van/power-only moves, compete in a dynamic freight market, and maintain compliance with fleet standards.

Qualifications

• CDL Class A required.
• Minimum 2 years verifiable Class A driving experience.
• Valid DOT medical certificate.
• TWIC card and tanker endorsement, or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Run local Southern California freight under CTS authority out of City of Industry yard.
• Keep your tractor road-ready, inspected and compliant.
• Pull dry van and power-only loads, with occasional drayage, tanker and flatbed.
• Deliver on time and represent CTS professionally at customer and rail facilities.

California Transit Services is leasing on Class A owner operators for local Southern California work out of City of Industry. You bring the tractor; we bring steady freight, a fuel card, and a straight 65/35 split with no hidden fees.

Compensation: Lease your truck on to CTS and drive as a W-2 employee with a separate equipment lease, so the arrangement complies with federal and California (AB5) rules. You keep 65% of linehaul revenue; CTS keeps 35%. Full lease terms are provided in writing before you sign.

Hours: Full time, local Southern California work

The work:

• Run local Southern California freight under CTS authority out of our City of Industry yard
• Keep your tractor road-ready, inspected and compliant
• Pull dry van and power-only loads, with occasional drayage, tanker and flatbed
• Deliver on time and represent CTS professionally at customer and rail facilities

Requirements:

• You own, or hold the lease on, a road-ready, CARB-compliant tractor
• Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
• Minimum 2 years verifiable Class A driving experience
• In good standing with Amazon, FedEx, UPS, Union Pacific and BNSF — no facility bans or do-not-return status
• TWIC card and tanker endorsement, or willing to obtain (we help; tanker is seldom used)
• Current DOT medical certificate
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check

Nice to have:

• UIIA registered
• Port registered with a current TWIC
• TSA clearance — registered cargo signer or agent
• Dry van, power-only, or Amazon Relay-style experience
• Port and container drayage experience
• Southern California freeway familiarity
