Job summary

ASC, Australia's submarine company, seeks skilled trades professionals for long-term training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, to support fleet maintenance on in-service ships and submarines. The role requires a mechanical or electrical engineering background and 5+ years in relevant technical fields, with NV1 clearance and Australian citizenship preferred.

Placements are available March 2027 and will run for approximately 25 months, including on-the-job and classroom training, with repatriation to

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, or a relevant mechanical qualification.
• 5+ years in maintenance, engineering or technical support roles (desirable).
• Experience in shipyard, maritime, naval, defence or defence contracting environment (highly desirable).
• Australian Citizenship.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a NV1 defence clearance.

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for in-service ships and submarines, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
• Troubleshooting with ship’s force, maintenance teams, and other engineering codes to resolve emergent technical issues during availabilities and deployments.
• Inspections and testing: shipboard inspections, system performance evaluations, readiness assessments.
• Interface with NAVSEA, ISEAs, and other technical authorities to ensure compliance with Navy standards and specifications.
• Maintain detailed technical records and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for maintenance processes.
