Job summary

BTS Software Solutions seeks an EE Deployer to support forward exploitation labs and field operations. You will collect and exploit recovered electronics, generate forensics reports, and collaborate with engineering teams to deliver rapid, hands-on analysis for DoD environments.

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Level - BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field with 3 years of experience OR associate degree and 5 years of experience OR High School diploma and 6 years of experience
  • Senior Level - Bachelor’s Degree with 10 years of experience in complex design, development, integration, and analysis of hardware projects.
  • Physical ability and commitment to global deployment for 6-month rotations.
  • Expertise in electronic schematic design and interpretation.
  • Proficiency in identifying electronic components and characterizing circuits.
  • Mastery of laboratory benchtop equipment (Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, etc.).
  • Solid understanding of RF communications and standard RF measurements.
  • Extensive experience in electronics engineering.
  • Experience using benchtop RF equipment including Signal Generators, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, and other equipment.
  • Perform standard RF measurements (e.g. occupied bandwidth, average power, pulse width) using the previously listed test equipment.
  • Experience in synthesizing and generating various types of RF waveforms using an arbitrary waveform generator.
  • Previous experience working in OCONUS DoD forensic exploitation labs, to include FXL-C and ACME Labs desired.
  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic devices from start to finish desired.
  • Experience in reverse engineering electronic components and circuit boards desired.
  • Experience supporting exploitation and modeling and simulation tool development desired.
  • Working knowledge of software-defined radios (SDR), such as the Ettus B210 and x310. Able to interface with such units in order to transmit or receive RF signals desired.
  • Basic MATLAB (and other basic programming/scripting) skills, should be able to apply digital signal processing techniques to communication signals. Techniques include digital filtering, sample rate conversion, frequency/phase estimation, demodulation, carrier recovery, timing recovery, channel equalization, pulse shaping, and forward error correction desired.
  • Experience working with embedded systems such as Arduino and writing programs leveraging the SPI bus to configure and analyze various chipsets desired.
  • Previous OCONUS deployment experience desired.

Responsibilities

  • Embark on overseas deployments, tackling challenges in critical intelligence communities.
  • Dive deep into electronic analysis of target devices, unraveling their mysteries from basic signaling to advanced modifications.
  • Craft compelling reports and briefings, showing expertise in characterization, vulnerabilities, and exploitation recommendations.
  • Team up with engineers and subject matter experts to solve complex problems and respond to RFIs.
  • Stay at the forefront of technology by researching emerging techniques and conducting laboratory-based analyses.
  • Capture, characterize and identify RF receiver and transmitter modules, operating frequencies and power.
  • Identify electronic components visually, develop accurate schematics of electronics systems using provided tools and techniques.
  • Analyze, demodulate and decode signals to extract intelligence data and develop standard demodulation and decoding tools and techniques.
  • Perform electronic data recovery on various devices using state-of-the-art forensic tools such as XRY, Cellbrite and Graykey.
  • Create engaging technical reports on captured data and maintain meticulous chain of custody.
