Qualifications

• Oversee overnight monitoring of stable patients and assess behavioral changes and pain scores.
• Interpret blood pressure and vital signs and alert the Veterinarian to changes.
• Understand normal ranges for heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature, and SpO2.
• Perform phlebotomy and place intravenous catheters.
• Capable of digital radiography with proper patient positioning.
• Compute medical math including IV infusions and administer medications.
• Identify at-risk patients and initiate CPR when needed.
• Mentor and train co-workers with patience and empathy.

Responsibilities

• Monitor stable patients overnight and assess behavioral changes.
• Obtain and interpret vitals, including blood pressure, and alert clinicians.
• Position and perform digital radiography and ensure correct exposure.
• Calculate medication dosages and administer via appropriate routes.
• Assist in CPR for patients at risk of arrest.
• Provide mentorship and training to team members.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.
• Maintain thorough documentation of patient status.
