BluePearl Pet Hospital in North Dallas, TX is seeking an experienced Part-time Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team. This role offers exposure to high-paced emergency medicine and opportunities for mentorship among a team of skilled professionals.

You will assist with anesthesia, triage, radiography, CPR, venipuncture, and IV catheter placement while delivering compassionate care to patients and clear communication to clients.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Emergency Veterinary Technician or equivalent.
• Ability to triage emergency cases and monitor vitals.
• Proficiency with radiography and anesthesia-related procedures.

Responsibilities

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients.
• Triage emergency cases and monitor vitals (temperature, heart rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure).
• Perform digital radiography with proper technique and patient positioning.
• Interpret vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes.
• Initiate CPR for at-risk patients when needed.
• Perform phlebotomy and place IV catheters.
• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.
• Mentor and train other co-workers.
• Address client concerns with patience and empathy.

BluePearl Pet Hospital is hiring an experienced Part-time Overnight Veterinary Technician to join our team in North Dallas, TX!

As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will:

• Induce, monitor and recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment.

• Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperature heart rate, respiratory rate and blood pressure.

• Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients.

• H ave a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heart and respiratory rate, temperature, blood pressure and oxygen saturation.

• Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues.

• Identify patients at risk for arrest and initiate CPR.

• Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications via appropriate routes and duration.

• Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels.

• Place and maintain feeding tubes and central line catheters.

• Have a passion for mentoring and training other co-workers.

• Have patience and empathy to address client concerns.
