Job summary

Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center in Middletown, CT is seeking an experienced overnight Veterinary Assistant to join our VECCS Level I hospital team. You will support nurses, assist veterinarians, and help maintain a calm, collaborative environment for patients and clients.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working in a veterinary setting preferred.
• Experience in handling animals and performing basic animal care tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
• Ability to multi task and remain organized in a fast paced environment.
• Compassion and patience when handling animals.
• Willingness to continue learning and stay updated on veterinary practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist Veterinary Technicians and staff in clinical tasks.
• Support nursing care, husbandry and handling restraints.
• Collaborate with veterinarians and technicians to deliver high quality care.
• Maintain cleanliness, inventory and orderly treatment areas.
