Job summary

The role requires knowledge of OSHA guidelines, a HS diploma or GED, and 1+ year in sanitation. Flexibility for late shifts and teamwork is essential, with the ability to operate across store departments as needed.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years of experience in maintenance/sanitation.
• Certifications upon hire: Basics of Safety, Annual Food Handler, basic HAZMAT / Chemical Safety

Responsibilities

• Maintains department cleanliness and safety with urgency and prioritization.
• Deep cleans and disinfects processing areas and equipment, including fixtures, coolers, floors, and drains.
• Maintains documentation and certification of chemical handling and sanitation verification functions.
• Uses chemicals and cleaning tools properly.
• Follows the H-E-B chemical program and organizes stock in the maintenance room.
• Applies knowledge of product handling and food preparation processes.
• Operates department sanitation equipment as needed.
• Identifies pests and uses traps as appropriate.
• Ensures food safety and sanitation standards by following SOPs.
• Communicates maintenance needs and improvements to Store Leaders.
