Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a Store Leadership professional to plan, direct and supervise daily operations across store departments. You will mentor staff, drive customer service and sales, and maintain the store to Meijer standards.

You will manage staffing, coaching, and training, while promoting safe, efficient service and strong associate development. This role emphasizes teamwork, mentorship, and achieving results in a dynamic retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store (meat, bakery, produce, deli) are helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate clear directions to team members.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflicts and address root causes.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use that information to make informed decisions.
• Demonstrated ability to teach suggestive selling.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor team members across SDITs and hourly positions.

Responsibilities

• Plan, directs and supervises team members in day-to-day operations across departments.
• Mentor and coach team members to meet service and sales goals.
• Implement strategies to improve customer service and drive store sales while meeting customer needs.
• Maintain store appearance with focus on prime shopping hours, product presentation and company standards.
• Staffing, selection and hiring to meet staffing needs; disclipinary actions as needed.
• Oversee P&L, sales targets and shrink control for the department.
• Communicate the Meijer Friendly Initiative in team meetings and conversations.
• Ensure team is thoroughly trained and adheres to required certifications.
