Job summary

Dollar General in Shelbyville, TN is seeking a capable supervisor to oversee overnight store operations, staff training, and merchandise presentation. You will coach associates, monitor performance, and ensure safety and loss-prevention standards are met.

You will support managers in maintaining clean, organized backrooms, conducting safety meetings, and executing the 7 Day Workflow Plan for night shift while ensuring accurate shelving and replenishment of stock.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two to three years of retail clerk experience.
• Previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred.
• Attainment of required local and state food handling certifications, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Train all assigned associates on overnight operations procedures including stocking and company standards.
• Coach overnight associates to maintain standards.
• Assess work completion and follow up with associates regarding performance.
• Implement performance standards and measures with recommendations to Store Managers.
• Conduct safety meetings and train on safety practices including rolltainer safety, box cutters, lifting techniques, baler, pallet jacks and straddle lift.
• Maintain a clean, well-organized store and a safe working/shopping environment.
• Ensure backroom organization and merchandise presentation per plans.
• Oversee unloading of trucks and placement of new merchandise according to plan.
