Job summary

Meijer Inc. is seeking a capable leader to plan, direct, and supervise day-to-day operations across store departments. You will mentor team members, drive sales, and uphold Meijer standards with a focus on superior customer service.

The role emphasizes staffing decisions, training, and disciplinary actions as needed, while managing P&L and shrink. A safe, efficient, and friendly environment is essential, with experience guiding teams and promoting career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or its equivalent required.
• 2-3 years of related retail experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Rotational assignments in other areas of the store such as meat, bakery, produce and deli; also customer service and product flow experience is helpful.
• Demonstrated ability to communicate to team members with clear direction.
• Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict and address root cause issues.

Responsibilities

• Plans, directs and supervises team members in the day to day operations within various departments of the store.
• Mentors and coaches team members to ensure customer service and sales goals are exceeded and the area is maintained to Meijer standards.
• Responsible for staffing, selection and hiring to achieve staffing needs.
• Documents and applies disciplinary actions and makes recommendations concerning discharge.
• Responsible for P&L, achieving sales and maintaining shrink for the department.
• Models exceptional, fast and friendly customer service.
• Promotes a safe work environment and ensures training compliance.
• Promotes succession planning by providing career paths and development needs for team members.
