Job summary

Meijer is a family company dedicated to serving people and communities. As a Food Clerk, you help create a fresh, welcoming store experience in Fresh departments by connecting with customers and keeping displays stocked and organized.

This role requires attention to detail, ability to learn store technology, and a willingness to lift and be active during shifts. Previous retail or food service experience helps, but is not required.

Qualifications

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Calm, focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to be physically active, including lifting, bending, twisting, and standing for extended periods.
• Previous retail or food service experience is helpful, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates.
• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need.
• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays.
• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards.
• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures.
• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery.
• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly.
