Job summary

Meijer Inc. is hiring for a Food Clerk to help maintain fresh, attractive displays and assist customers in our Wisconsin store. You will stock, rotate, and merchandise products across departments, while following food safety and quality standards.

You will engage customers, share product knowledge, and work with teammates to keep the store running smoothly. Prior retail or food service experience is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• Customer-focused service mindset and ability to engage with shoppers.
• Clear communication and active listening with teammates and customers.
• Experience handling transactions and operating store tech is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain clean, organized shelves and displays.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, lift and stand for extended periods.
• Willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

This position is responsible for taking stock from either an l-cart or pallet and, with using the correct location codes provided on the box, put the stock in the correct location on the shelf and repeat this process until the assigned area is finished.

What You’ll Do

As a Food Clerk, you play a key role in creating a fresh, welcoming, and well‑run store experience within our Fresh departments.

You’ll:

• Build positive connections with customers and teammates

• Share product knowledge and help customers find what they need

• Maintain full, fresh, and visually appealing product displays

• Stock, rotate, and merchandise product according to standards

• Use technology to complete tasks efficiently and accurately

• Follow food safety, sanitation, and quality procedures

• Work across departments including Meat, Seafood, Bakery, Deli, Produce and Grocery

• Support other tasks as needed to keep operations running smoothly
