Job summary

Hy-Vee Inc. is seeking an Overnight Stock Assistant Manager to lead the night stock crew, ensure efficient unloading, and maintain organized merchandise for a strong daily start.

The role focuses on customer-ready stores and stock integrity, with emphasis on teamwork and strict adherence to safety and store standards. The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with 3–5 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced overnight retail environment.
• Solve practical problems and make sound decisions with a variety of variables.
• Use basic math skills, including fractions, decimals, and percentages.
• Communicate clearly in writing and verbally with employees, vendors, and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Set and uphold department standards for customer service, cleanliness, sanitation, team relations, and overall profitability.
• Supervise and direct the overnight stock crew, assign duties, monitor productivity, and hold individual check-ins with crew members.
• Oversee ordering from the warehouse including pre-orders for grocery, non-foods, and supplies, and coordinate work with assistant managers.
• Review and maintain the RPM system, including inventory setup, understock and backstock management, trigger settings, and order review.
• Unload trucks, break down pallets, sort items by aisle, and check in vendor deliveries piece by piece.
