Job summary

Courtyard by Marriott Downtown El Paso is seeking an attentive Overnight Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for guests and staff during overnight hours. You will patrol premises, respond to incidents, and coordinate with Front Desk and other hotel departments.

The role requires strong observation, calmness under pressure, and the ability to work independently on overnights.

Qualifications

• Previous security or customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong observation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to remain alert and professional during overnight shifts.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to walk and stand for extended periods during patrols.

Responsibilities

• Monitor hotel premises, entrances, exits, parking areas, and public spaces overnight.
• Conduct routine interior and exterior security patrols.
• Respond to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and guest concerns.
• Address noise complaints and guest concerns professionally.
• Enforce hotel security policies and procedures.
• Assist with alarms, evacuations, and medical emergencies.
• Complete security reports and logs accurately.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and identify unauthorized individuals.
• Communicate with Front Desk, Management, Maintenance, and other departments.

Job Description

• Monitor hotel premises, entrances, exits, parking areas, and public spaces throughout the overnight shift.
• Conduct routine interior and exterior security patrols.
• Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, disturbances, emergencies, and guest concerns.
• Address overnight noise complaints and other guest concerns in a courteous and professional manner.
• Enforce hotel security policies and procedures.
• Assist with fire alarms, medical emergencies, evacuations, and other emergency situations.
• Complete accurate security reports, incident reports, and shift logs.
• Monitor access to restricted areas and identify unauthorized individuals.
• Communicate effectively with the Front Desk, Management, Maintenance, and other hotel departments.
• Contact law enforcement, emergency services, or other appropriate authorities when necessary.
• Protect hotel property, equipment, and guest belongings.
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Follow all Courtyard by Marriott, company, and hotel policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
