Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores, Inc. is seeking an Overnight Cashier to deliver excellent customer service during late-night hours. You will process transactions, keep the store clean, and help create a welcoming environment for guests.

The role runs from 10:00pm to 7:00am, with a $1 shift differential included in the base pay. The company offers full-time benefits and opportunities for advancement within a supportive team.

(Overnight shift differential eligibility requires a minimum of 4 hours between 10:00pm and 7:00am.)

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet every customer with a smile, thank them for their business, and invite them back.
• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service.
• Apply discounts and promotions as applicable while following all company policies and laws related to restricted sales (alcohol, tobacco, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and organized store, inside and out.
• Stock and rotate shelves, coolers, and displays properly.
• Assist with additional store duties as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Our stores require flexible availability for a 24/7 operation (including nights, weekends, and holidays).
• A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Reliability, integrity, and a history of doing the right thing.
• A team player with a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.
• Prior retail or foodservice cashiering experience is a plus.
• Ability to think quickly and adapt to change.
• Must meet legal age requirements to sell regulated products (alcohol and tobacco).

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
