Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores Inc. in Hillsboro, OR is seeking an Overnight Cashier for part-time night and evening shifts to deliver fast, friendly checkout service and keep the store neat.

You will greet customers, apply discounts, and support store operations with shifts from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. or 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., including an overnight shift differential and available benefits.

Qualifications

• Our stores require flexible availability for a 24/7 operation.
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Reliability and integrity with a history of doing the right thing.
• Team player who helps out where needed, in a fast-paced retail setting.
• Prior retail or foodservice cashiering experience is a plus.

Shift: part-time 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. & 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Overnight Shift Differential: To be eligible, you must work at least 4 hours between 10:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Greet every customer with a smile, thank them for their business, and invite them back.
• Provide fast, friendly, and accurate checkout service.
• Apply discounts and promotions as applicable while following all company policies and laws related to restricted sales (alcohol, tobacco, etc.).
• Maintain a clean and organized store, inside and out.
• Stock and rotate shelves, coolers, and displays properly.
• Assist with additional store duties as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills and a friendly, can-do attitude.
• Reliability, integrity, and a history of doing the right thing.
• A team player with a willingness to jump in and help wherever needed.
• Prior retail or foodservice cashiering experience is a plus.
• Ability to think quickly and adapt to change.
• Must meet legal age requirements to sell regulated products (alcohol and tobacco).
  NV Only – Must be of legal age to work around slot machines.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
