Job summary

The Converse Home in Burlington, VT is seeking a dependable Resident Care Assistant for the overnight shift (10:30 PM – 7:00 AM). You will support residents with ADLs, provide companionship, and help ensure a safe, high-quality night environment.

LNA is a plus but not required; background checks are required and you will work with a compassionate, resident-centered team. Overnight staff monitor health, complete safety rounds, document care, administer medications if certified, and respond to

Qualifications

• Must be compassionate, patient and trustworthy.
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours with minimal supervision.
• Must pass a background check.
• Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Team-oriented, resident-centered approach to care.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care with compassion, dignity, and professionalism.
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with care plans and physician orders (if medication certified).
• Monitor residents' health status and promptly report any changes to the nursing team.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility.
• Promote residents' independence with respectful, person-centered care.
• Complete scheduled overnight safety rounds and resident checks.
• Respond promptly to resident call bells, emergencies, and overnight needs.
• Remain awake, alert, and engaged throughout the entire overnight shift.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
• Follow all community policies and procedures to ensure resident safety and quality care.
