Job summary

Planet Fitness is seeking a Member Services Representative to be the first point of contact for members and guests. You will provide exceptional customer service, assist with membership inquiries and transactions, and help maintain a clean, friendly gym environment.

You will greet members, process sign-ups, manage inquiries and payments, and support tours and upgrades. The role emphasizes a positive attitude, reliable conduct, and adherence to company policies and safety certifications.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Ability to work onsite, this is not a remote position.

• CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.
• Tanning Certification within company required timeframes.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTIONThe Member Services Representative (MSR) is the first point of contact for members and guests. This position is responsible for providing exceptional customer service, handling membership inquiries and transactions, and helping to maintain a clean, comfortable, and friendly “Judgement Free Zone” environment.This role is key to ensuring a positive member experience through friendly and professional interactions, prompt support, and a strong understanding of club culture, policies and procedures.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESCustomer ServiceGreet members, prospective members and guests in a friendly, and professional manner.Create a positive club experience by providing outstanding customer service.Respond to member questions and concerns promptly and courteously.Assist members with account inquiries, changes, and billing questions.Sales & Membership SupportProvide information about Planet Fitness memberships and amenities.Assist potential members with tours and sign-ups.Promote and explain current membership specials and upgrades (e.g., Black Card).Meet or exceed membership and customer service goals.Front Desk OperationsCheck members into the system using club’s POS systemAnswer phones professionally and efficientlyProcess new memberships, cancellations and payments accurately.Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned.Respond promptly and professionally to members’ questions and concerns and inform Assistant Manager or General Manager if any issues arise.Cleanliness & MaintenanceMaintain cleanliness and neatness of the club by performing assigned cleaning duties throughout the shift.Help maintain the cleanliness of the facility, including restrooms, locker rooms, and workout areas.Ensure weights are returned to appropriate rack areaRegularly walk the floor to ensure the club remains clean, organized, and safe.Refill cleaning stations and supplies as needed.Required:Must be 18 year of age or olderAbility to work onsite, this is not a remote position.Upbeat, professional and positive attitude and strong work ethicReliable, punctual and dependableProfessional, respectful, and solutions-oriented in member and employee interactionsCommitment to cleanliness and creating a positive member experienceAbility to learn and apply company cleaning practices, policies, and procedures.Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructionsObtain and maintain CPR/AED Certification within required timeframes.Obtain Tanning Certification within company required timeframes.MSRs must submit to a National Sex Offender Registry searchOvernight MSRs must submit to a full background check consisting of a National Criminal Scan, National Sex Offender Registry, National Security/Terrorist Watch List and County Criminal Search within the first week of hire. Frequent stooping, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, twisting, repetitive hand movement and lifting (up to 50 lbs.) may be required.
