Job summary

Wegmans is seeking an Overnight Grocery Team Leader to manage the overnight operation and lead a team to replenish products for daytime demand. The program includes mentorship and a six-month training track with potential interview or placement as a team leader.

You will enhance leadership skills, align with Wegmans values and performance measures, and drive exceptional service during the night shift. A fast-paced, collaborative environment awaits night owls ready to lead.

We’re looking for passionate people ready to collaborate, develop and be leaders. As an Overnight Grocery Team Leader with Wegmans, you’ll join the largest area of the store, playing an integral part in the success of the overnight operations team, ensuring each team member is working towards replenishment of products to meet the daytime needs of our customers. You will have the opportunity to enhance your leadership skill set, and gain a deep understanding of our values, business measures, standards and operations. If you are a night owl who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, and has a passion for leading a team, this could be the role for you!

This is a structured training program designed to be completed within 6 months with support from a mentor and trainer. Successful program completion will result in an interview or placement as a team leader.

What will I do?

• Help to problem solve operational challenges while maintaining open two-way communication with managers
• Coordinate activities, prioritize tasks and ensure the operation runs efficiently for your team

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, frequent heavy lifting, shelving of product, repetitive hand, and arm movements, bending, and reaching, including reaching and lifting above shoulder height, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers. The average weight range of items lifted is 8 – 32 pounds with a maximum weight lifted greater than 50 pounds occasionally to frequently. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate to moderately high and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors.
