ZippyApp Talentral Corp. in Richmond, KY is seeking an Overnight Treatment Technician to join our 24/7 veterinary hospital.

Responsibilities include implementing doctor-prescribed treatment plans, running diagnostics, administering medications, monitoring anesthesia, and handling intake and discharge while keeping detailed chart notes in Cornerstone and Smart-flow.

Qualifications

• Licensed Vet Technician or equivalent emergency/critical care experience.
• Understanding of critical patient treatment plans and confidence in their execution.
• Proficient in recording vital signs and basic laboratory tests.

Responsibilities

• Overnight duties from 8pm to 8am in a 24/7 hospital.
• Complete prescribed treatment plans and administer medications.
• Run diagnostic tests per doctor on duty orders.
• Intake and discharge of hospitalized patients.
• Maintain daily hospital charges and medical records.

Job description

Overnight Treatment Technicians are responsible for:

• Completing the treatment plan prescribed by Doctors
• Running diagnostic tests per doctor on duty orders
• Medication administration
• Intake and discharge of hospitalized patients
• Discussing financial standings and patient updates with pet owners
• Maintaining daily hospital charges
• Patient charting and notes on our Smart-flow System/ Cornerstone
• Administering medications to boarded pets as needed
• Maintaining a clean treatment area
• Anesthesia monitoring during surgery

This person should maintain a positive attitude, provide excellent patient care and customer service. A candidate for this position should demonstrate a passion for patient quality of care, should be a licensed veterinary technician or have equivalent experience in emergency or critical care.

Requirements/Responsibilities

Qualifications:-Licensed Vet Technicianor-Equal experience in emergency or critical care

Skills Required:Understanding and confidence with the treatment plans for critical patients (Cytauxzoonosis, DKA, GDV, Parvovirus, Kidney Failure, IMHA, ITP, Trauma/Shock, CHF, Seizures, Toxicities, HBC, ABD, etc)Proficient use of medical terminologyProper animal restraintPeripheral catheter placementVenipunctureBasic bandage applicationAdministration of oral and parenteral medicationsKnowledge of various routes of drug administrationAnesthetic monitoring, Surgical scrubbing, gowning, and surgical prep.Aseptic surgical area preparationRecording vital signs (Temp, Pulse, Resp BP, and Pain Asses.)Perform basic laboratory tests (CBC, Chem17+Lytes, T4, Phenobarbital levels, All Snap Test, Urinalysis, Coags, Blood slides , Ear cytology, PCV/TS, Fecal, etc)Maintain proper medical records and computer skillsKnowledge of in-house and reference laboratory testsKnowledge in the use of Cornerstone and Smart-flow are preferred, but not required.

Schedule Requirements: For the overnight position we are looking for someone able to work 8pm-8am. Being a 24/7 hospital our team members have to be willing to work 12 hour shifts, some weekends and volunteer for holidays.
