Job summary

Pride Health is hiring an Overnight Specimen Processor/Lab Assistant for a Greensboro, NC facility. This 3‑month contract offers a path to extension or conversion based on performance. Shift is Mon–Fri 10 PM–4 AM EST (30 hours/week).

Payrate is $20.60/hr on W2, depends on experience and education. Responsibilities include specimen handling, equipment maintenance, QA/QC, data recording, and safety compliance. High school diploma required; medical assistant training helpful.

Qualifications

• Must be able to establish work priorities and handle several tasks for maximum workstation efficiency.
• Must be able to retain information once learned.
• Must interact with coworkers, internal and external customers with courtesy and respect.

Responsibilities

• Sort and receive specimens in the department.
• Perform routine instrument maintenance on some equipment.
• Centrifuge specimens, print extra labels, record data and temperatures, store and retrieve specimens.
• Prepare reagents and/or media in the department.
• Prepare specimens at workstations for testing (build worklists, aliquot, check for clots, inoculate, slide prep).
• Perform QA/QC duties as assigned.
• Find missing samples.
• Decontaminate work areas.
• Perform weekly radioactive wipe tests.
• Follow PPE requirements and safety regulations.
• Use the lab computer system and PCs.
• Dispose of biohazardous material.
• Complete training and competency checklists.
