Job summary

Foothills Animal Hospital in Yuma, AZ is seeking an Overnight Kennel Attendant to care for hospitalized pets during overnight shifts. You will provide compassionate, attentive care, monitor wellbeing, and help ensure a calm, safe environment for every animal.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent required.
  • Previous animal care experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a veterinary setting or boarding facility is beneficial but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide compassionate, attentive care for hospitalized pets during overnight shifts.
  • Monitor animals, ensure comfort and safety, and document daily care.
  • Assist with cleanliness and sanitation of kennels and hospital areas.
  • Manage feeding schedules and daily activities for the animals.
  • Communicate observations to the veterinary team as needed.

About This Role

Join our veterinary hospital as a full-time Overnight Kennel Attendant and become an essential caregiver for our hospitalized patients! In this hands-on role, you'll provide compassionate, attentive care for pets during their stay with us, ensuring they feel comfortable, safe, and loved.

This position requires overnight shifts from 6pm - 6am with a one hour lunch.

  • Immaculate Environment: You'll maintain spotlessly clean kennels, cages, and hospital areas, creating a sanitary, odor-free space that promotes animal health and comfort.
  • Safe Handling: You'll develop trust with animals of various temperaments, confidently and safely handling them during daily care, medication administration, and movement around the facility.
  • Detailed Record-Keeping: You'll accurately document feeding schedules, behaviors, and care provided, ensuring our team has complete information about each animal's stay.
