Samaritan Daytop Village is seeking a Part-Time Overnight House Counselor to support the therapeutic environment and daily client services in a non-profit setting. The role emphasizes safety, program coordination, and adherence to confidentiality and health regulations.

You will monitor activities, assist with medication pass, logistics, and transportation arrangements, working under supervision to uphold the agency’s mission in NYC.

Formación

• FDNY certification within 90 days as Fire Drill Conductor/Fire Guard/Fire Safety Coordinator.
• CPR certification within 90 days from date of hire.
• High School diploma or Equivalent.
• Experience with substance use or mental health populations or lived experience.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and EHR.
• Experience working with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsabilidades

• Supervises and monitors the therapeutic environment to ensure behavior guidelines are followed and a positive milieu.
• Manages daily program schedule of activities and ensures participation.
• Monitors facility for cleanliness, security, and safety practices.
• Conducts mandated fire drills/evacuations as needed.
• Observes medication administration and adherence to prescribed regimes.
• Assists with medication management and direct observation during medication pass.
• Performs facility/safety checks and searches for unsafe conditions.
• Performs room searches as per policy and safety guidelines.
• Searches rooms and personal property under direction to ensure safety.
• Reviews scheduled client appointments and dispatches trips promptly.
• Dispatches vehicles and completes agency paperwork accurately.
• Distributes carfare for external appointments.
• Reviews appointment escorts for appropriateness.
• Coordinates daily client reporting per DSS/HRA protocols.
• Complies with 42 CFR confidentiality and HIPAA regulations.
• Monitors kitchen operations and food preparations for Board of Health compliance.
