Job summary

Valor Hospitality is seeking a Facilities Maintenance role to respond to guest requests and keep hotel equipment running efficiently. You will perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing systems and assist with boiler and chiller operations across the property.

Requirements include a high school diploma and at least two years in building maintenance. The role involves physical tasks and will require rounds, log maintenance, and emergency response capabilities.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; trade courses in building maintenance preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in building maintenance and construction.
  • Ability to maintain HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on hotel equipment (kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical, guest rooms).
  • Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat water.
  • Operate equipment; maintain domestic hot/cold water systems and monitor electrical switch gears.
  • Maintain cleanliness and general maintenance in engineering spaces and daily operations.
  • Make rounds of the property to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Complete maintenance requests, take readings, and maintain logs.
  • Respond to emergencies including fire alarms, threats, disasters, power failures.
  • Assist with boiler/chiller operation and temperature control.
  • Support parking lot maintenance and snow removal as needed.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

POSITION PROFILE Respond to all engineering service calls, giving priority to guest requests, and maintain hotel equipment in an efficient, safe, accident‑free manner. Ensure a safe, resourceful, and well‑maintained hotel environment.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILTIES
  • Respond to and handle guest requests in a courteous, efficient, safe manner.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and necessary repairs on all hotel equipment, including kitchen, laundry, boiler, plumbing, pool, HVAC, electrical and guest rooms.
  • Take water samples of boiler, loop, and cooling tower systems and treat the water to maintain predetermined levels of chemical concentration.
  • Operate various equipment; maintain the domestic hot and cold-water systems and monitor various electrical switch gears to ensure proper operation.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and general maintenance duties in the engineering spaces as well as other assigned daily operations.
  • Make rounds of the hotel property to ensure everything is in working order.
  • Complete maintenance requests, take equipment and meter readings, and maintain log to notify the next shift.
  • Respond to all emergency situations including fire alarms, bomb threats, disasters and power failures; notify the appropriate authorities.
  • Handle operation of the boiler and chiller and maintaining temperatures throughout the building.
  • Assist with maintenance of parking lot and snow removal as needed.
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • High school diploma or equivalent trade school, special courses in building maintenance and construction.
  • Ability to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing equipment and perform carpentry, repair work, construction and renovation work.
  • Communicate information and hotel services to management, staff and guests.
  • Two years prior experience in building maintenance and construction.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Lift/Push/Pull/Carry - up to 50 -75 plus lbs. supplies, equipment and machinery.
  • Bending - required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift.
  • Kneeling- required to perform inspections and repairs frequently throughout shift.
  • Continuous movement throughout hotel required to respond quickly to emergency.
