Job summary

Avera McKennan Hospital is seeking a Night Shift Custodian to maintain a clean and safe environment across patient rooms, offices, lounges, and hallways. You will support a multidisciplinary team and ensure supplies and cleanliness standards are met in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Responsibilities include cleaning duties, stocking carts, and maintaining good customer relations with staff. The role requires attention to detail, reliable attendance, and ability to work night hours.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work the required night shift hours.
• Ability to communicate effectively and maintain cleanliness in assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a clean/neat environment in working area. These areas may include, but not be limited to: patient rooms, terminals, offices, nurse's stations, lounges, hallways, bathrooms, kitchen areas, elevators, and lobby areas.
• Participates in all cleaning activities as assigned. These may include, but not be limited to dusting, washing, drying, mopping, vacuuming, moving furniture, and emptying trash.
• Keeps assigned area fully stocked with supplies such as paper towels, toilet paper, etc.
• Responsible for maintaining stock on individual cleaning carts including wet and dry supplies.
• Maintain good customer relations at all times by demonstrating a good rapport and cooperative working relationship with employees, all departments, coworkers and other pertinent staff.
• Responsible for managing workload and delegating tasks as needed to other staff members.
• Maintain competency and serve as a Resource to staff members as needed.
