Job summary

Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is seeking overnight Histotechnologists or Histotechnicians to support our Histology team. You will section paraffin and frozen tissues, perform embedding and microtomy, and troubleshoot equipment issues while maintaining QA records.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field, with NYS licensure eligibility preferred. Schedule is overnight, onsite at the main campus in New York.

• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Technician, or Certified Histology Technician license preferred; Eligibility to obtain NYS license required.

We are currently seeking overnight Histotechnologists or Histotechnicians to join our Histology team!

Role Overview

• Section paraffin and frozen tissue specimens as requested.
• Basic histology techniques (e.g. embed, microtomy, process tissue).
• Analyze and troubleshoot equipment-related issues
• Maintains vital quality control and assurance records

Key Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field with knowledge of Biology, Chemistry
• NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Technician, or Certified Histology Technician license preferred. Eligibility to obtain NYS license required

Additional Information

• Schedule: Tuesday – Saturday, or Sunday – Thursday, Overnight hours, 100% onsite
• Location: Main Hospital Campus, 1275 York Avenue, New York, NY.
• Reporting to: Histology Supervisor

10% differential for overnight schedule
