Job summary

Star Construction seeks a safety-driven Heavy Equipment Operator for its Underground Utility Construction team, based in Tennessee locations including Nashville. Travel with crew is required, and overnight hours are common as projects span the region.

You will operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and loaders while following plans, ensuring safety, and maintaining equipment and sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of heavy equipment operating experience in underground utility construction.
• Must be 18 years of age or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Experience operating excavators, backhoes, trenchers, plows, loaders, and similar equipment.
• Valid CDL and ability to transport equipment to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate excavators, backhoes, trenchers, plows, loaders, and other heavy equipment.
• Excavate and install underground utility infrastructure while protecting existing utilities.
• Read utility locates, job plans, and supervisor instructions.
• Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and site restoration.
• Load, unload, and transport equipment and materials.
• Operate company vehicles and haul equipment to sites and perform daily inspections.
