Giant Eagle, Inc. is seeking an Overnight Stock Clerk to keep shelves stocked and organized for the next day’s guests. You’ll work overnight when the store is closed, enabling focused, calm task execution in a structured setting.

Responsibilities

• Stock, rotate, block and maintain product on shelves and know code dating.
• Provide exemplary customer service and greet customers in a friendly manner.
• Follow procedures to meet out-of-stock percentage goals.
• Assist leadership with inventory, AR and ordering functions.
• Monitor expiration dates of products.
• Maintain safety as the top priority for team members, guests and products.
• Handle products and equipment per food safety guidelines.
• Set up displays on the sales floor.
• Unload and store food items in prep areas and coolers.
• Unload product from truck and break down pallets.
• Load flats with product to floor and hand stack.
• Assist back room efficiency by unloading deliveries.
• Receive and process all vendor products.
• Ensure vendors deliver to receiving area during scheduled times and manage backroom vendor levels.
• Prepare product for stocking: open cases, price if needed.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils and floor.
• Keep backroom/receiving area clean and organized.
• Create cardboard bales with bailer and paper crusher.
• Be willing to learn and communicate, including trying new products.
• Become familiar with store products to answer questions and suggest options.

• Maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils and floor.


• Maintain a clean, organized and clutter-free backroom/receiving area operation.


• Make cardboard bales with bailer paper crusher.


• Demonstrate a willingness to learn, understand and communicate, which includes the willingness to taste and experience new product offerings.


• Become familiar with products in the store so you can answer questions and make suggestions to customers.
