Job description

Job Summary

Assists the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals established for the department. Replenishes product throughout the store during overnight hours. Increases customer confidence and loyalty by promoting and executing consistent and compliant operating conditions. Provides fresh and appealing products, courteous, knowledgeable and prompt service. Values diversity and supports an inclusive environment by embracing the backgrounds and experiences of the team.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Service (70%) Creates an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated to help build and retain customer confidence and loyalty. Ensures the department is merchandised per plan and delivers daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for at‑shelf product availability, freshness, product rotation, inventory levels, stocking—including maintaining POG integrity and shelf price tags/signage—and proper cooler/freezer conditioning. Offers customers assistance in finding or suggesting product.
  • Leadership (10%) Promotes trust and respect among associates by collaborating, fostering teamwork, and communicating company, department, and job‑specific information. Adheres to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.
  • Financial (10%) Maintains awareness of inventory/stocking conditions, reports discrepancies, inspects products for quality and freshness, and ensures products are held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines while retaining documentation of temperature logs.
  • Compliance/Safety (10%) Ensures company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation, and productivity are maintained. Adheres to all regulatory compliance requirements, executes product recalls and withdrawals promptly, and maintains safety programs, reporting hazards, accidents, and incidents to management. Ensures adherence to wage and hour policies, cultivates a culture of safety, and maintains necessary safety training and equipment.

Qualifications
  • Required Education: High School / GED
  • Languages Required: English
  • Languages Preferred: Spanish
  • Supervisory Experience: 0–3 years minimum
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:
    • Must be 18 years of age.
    • Authorization to work in the United States or ability to obtain the same.
    • Successful completion of pre‑employment drug testing and background check.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Exceptional interpersonal, motivational and communication skills.
Environmental Factors
  • Retail – General Heavy: Requires standing, walking, manual dexterity, repetitive movements, reaching, carrying loads up to 250 lbs, occasional kneeling or climbing, and exposure to various indoor/outdoor conditions.
  • Safety Risks: Twisting, walking on slippery surfaces, working with hazardous equipment, exposure to noise, irritants, and toxic substances.
  • Equipment: Cleaning supplies, register, pricing gun, scales, scanner, material handling equipment, PPE (goggles, gloves, back brace).
