Job summary

zTrip KCT is seeking an Overnight Fleet Technician to keep our taxi and fleet vehicles safe and service-ready during overnight hours. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnose issues, and complete repairs to minimize downtime and ensure reliable service for customers.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, self-motivated, and committed to quality workmanship, with hands-on experience and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Automotive Technician, Fleet Technician, Maintenance Technician, Mechanic, or similar role.
• Experience with fleet vehicles, taxis, vans, or light‑duty trucks preferred.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles to reduce downtime.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues and perform repairs.
• Maintain service-ready vehicles and accurate repair records.
• Keep the shop clean, organized, and compliant with safety policies.
• Assist with inventory management and parts organization.

Position Overview

As an Overnight Fleet Technician, you will perform preventative maintenance, vehicle inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of fleet vehicles. Your work will play a critical role in reducing downtime, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring our vehicles are ready to serve customers each day.

This position is ideal for someone who is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, and committed to maintaining high standards of vehicle performance and safety.

Key Responsibilities of aOvernight Fleet Technician:

Preventative Maintenance

• Perform routine maintenance on fleet vehicles.
• Complete oil changes, tire services, fluid checks, and brake inspections.
• Conduct vehicle safety inspections and identify maintenance needs.
• Help extend vehicle life through proactive maintenance practices.
• Ensure vehicles meet company safety and operational standards.

Diagnostics & Repairs

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and performance‑related issues.
• Repair and replace vehicle components, including brakes, batteries, steering, and suspension systems.
• Utilize diagnostic equipment to identify maintenance and repair needs.
• Perform repairs efficiently and accurately.
• Test and inspect vehicles following repairs to ensure proper operation.

Fleet Readiness

• Support fleet availability by minimizing vehicle downtime.
• Prioritize repairs based on operational needs.
• Work closely with management to keep vehicles service‑ready.
• Maintain accurate repair records and maintenance documentation.

Shop Operations

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Properly use and maintain tools and shop equipment.
• Assist with inventory management and parts organization.
• Follow all company safety policies and industry best practices.
• Support overall shop efficiency and productivity.

Qualifications of aOvernight Fleet Technician:

Preferred Experience

• Experience as an Automotive Technician, Fleet Technician, Maintenance Technician, Mechanic, or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures.
• Experience working on fleet vehicles, taxis, vans, commercial vehicles, or light‑duty trucks preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
• Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment.
• ASE certifications are a plus but not required.
• Valid driver's license required.
