16 Hours/Two nights a week (every other weekend required)

I. JOB SUMMARY

To provide supervision of facility during the overnight shift assuring that facility policies are followed, the environment is safe, and that quality of care is maintained.

II. QUALIFICATIONS
  • A. Must have a Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Management, Business Administration, Human Services, Social Work, Business, or related field.
  • B. Must have at least one year of healthcare experience including management and supervision
  • C. Must be able to read, write, and speak the English language in an understandable manner.
  • D. Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such actions.
  • E. Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with families, residents, visitors, personnel, regulatory agencies, and the general public.
  • F. Must possess leadership and supervisory ability and willingness to work harmoniously with personnel.
  • G. Must demonstrate a positive, firm and fair approach when collaborating with employees
  • H. Must possess patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
  • I. Must possess critical thinking skills to adapt to rapidly developing situations requiring quick interventions utilizing a risk management approach.
III.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT
  • A. Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday.
  • B. Must be able to cope with the mental and emotional stress of the position.
  • C. Must possess sight/hearing senses,or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately so that the requirements of the position can be fully met.
  • D. Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity and the ability to work effectively with residents, visitors, personnel, regulatory agencies, and support agencies.
  • E. Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • F. Must be able to relate to and work with ill, disabled, young, emotionally upset, and at times hostile people.
  • G. May be required to lift, push, pull, and move equipment, supplies, etc., throughout the day.
  • H. Is subject to exposure to infectious waste, diseases, conditions, etc. including exposure to the (HIV) Aids and Hepatitis B viruses, Sars-CoV-2 and other related infections.
IV.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • A. Conduct on going facility rounds throughout shift of the entire facility including each unit, each resident room and each respective storage room, and lower level including kitchen & laundry.
  • B. Address all immediate concerns for resolution and follow up to ensure the person identifying the concern is aware of the resolution and status. Communicate in writing (or in person/phone for more involved matters) all other concerns and route all other concerns to the appropriate Department Head and Administrator.
  • C. Report any incident regarding resident quality of care and equipment/building emergencies to the Administrator.
  • D. Immediately report any serious resident, employee or visitor incidents to the Administrator.
  • E. Check the status of residents as directed by the Administrator.
  • F. Monitor and supervise all staff on duty.
  • G. Verify the completion of scheduled showers.
  • H. May initiate discipline as necessary.
  • I. At beginning of shift, validate all staff scheduled are in place within each department. Staffing concerns should be addressed and resolved to the greatest extent possible. Any critical staffing concerns need to be communicated to the relevant Department Head, Administrator, or designee immediately.
  • J. Verify the completion of Quick ADT for discharges/transfers.
  • K. Maintain safety for all residents including checking building alarms and other elopement prevention devices. Alarms are to be checked at the start of the shift, and as needed thereafter to ensure proper working condition.
  • L. Familiarize self with all policies and procedures, including all emergency procedures and be able to carry them out as needed.
  • M. Ensure direct care staff are checking and changing residents per guidelines.
  • N. Ensure direct care staff have properly cleaned all resident wheelchairs.
  • O. Ensure all floors have the necessary supplies and that units are properly stocked for morning shift.
  • P. Ensure resident clothing is laid out for morning shift.
  • Q. Ensure all dining rooms and pantries are clean after meal service.
  • R. Ensure all PCC documentation is being completed by nursing, as necessary.
  • S. Monitor all breaks by all employees.
  • T. Responsible for facility supervisor keys.
  • U. Provide the Administrator with a report following each shift that documents shift duties in summary.
  • V. Perform other duties as assigned.
