Job summary

The Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson is seeking a Direct Support Professional / Overnight Residential Counselor (DSP) to support residents in a group home. The role emphasizes personal care, safety and daily living activities.

You will assist with bathing, toileting, cooking and life skills, administer medications, and document services. Weekend shifts are included, with a HS diploma and valid driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A valid driver's license.
• The ability to meet the physical requirements of CPR/First Aid and our emergency procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist and/or supervise individuals in personal care areas (bathing/toileting).
• Participate and/or supervise in cleaning, cooking and life skills.
• Administer and/or assist with medication administration.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, co-workers and residents.
• Drive residents to/from day programs and community activities using agency vehicles.
• Daily documentation of services provided.
• Assist with fun community based activities.
