Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated's Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, MD is seeking a Security Officer for the Overnight shift (10 PM–6 AM). The role focuses on safety, guest service, and enforcing regulations.

You will patrol, monitor posts, handle transfers of funds, and maintain a professional demeanor while adhering to state regulations. High school diploma required; valid MD license and ability to work a flexible schedule are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous Security experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required and must meet the requirements of company Motor Vehicle Policy.
• Ability to read, write, speak, understand or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the necessary functions of this position.
• Ability to consistently comprehend, retain and execute written, verbal and demonstrated directions, explanations and guidance.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and effectively communicate with guests, co-workers and management.
• Must be able to obtain and keep a License issued by the Maryland State Lottery Agency required of all Gaming Establishment employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a constant vigilance to ensure the safety of guests, employees and property.
• Responsible for maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Enforce and adhere to State Lottery Regulations, Internal Controls and company Policies & Procedures.
• Responsible for enforcing security procedures at all assigned posts.
• Assists in the transfer of monies from one area to another.
• Patrol grounds in security vehicle as assigned.
• Promotes outstanding customer relations.
• Promotes honesty and trust amongst the team.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.
