Catholic Diocese of Lansing is seeking an Overnight Caregiver for a part-time role at our Williamston location. The position covers 3 nights per week, from 10pm to 8am, with some flexibility required. Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and a loving presence to guests.
• Assist with walking, moving, and position changes.
• Assist with personal hygiene care (mouth care, bathroom assistance, grooming, etc.).
• Give and oversee medication as directed.
• Meal preparation and light housekeeping tasks (cleaning bathrooms, mopping floors, dishes, laundry, etc.).
• Answering the phone and door as needed.
• Communicate effectively and be a team player.
• Assist with other tasks similar to what a family caregiver would provide.

Overnight Caregiver Position - Part-Time (30 hours per week)

About the Employer

A community inspired by Mother Teresa, providing a home and care for terminally ill people.

Overnight caregivers provide personal care for one to three terminally ill people in our small home setting. Tasks are similar to what a family caregiver does and is done in close coordination with the team and under the direction of the care coordinator(s) and/or assistant care manager(s).

Our small home environment uniquely allows caregivers to spend quality time with guests and provide compassionate care.

• Part time - 3 nights per week as needed primarily at our Williamston location.
• Overnight hours are from 10pm to 8am with some flexibility required.
• Caregiving experience is preferred.
• Must be physically able to assist with transfers and position changes, be a strong critical thinker and communicator.
• Orientation and additional training on practical skills will be provided.

Caregiver duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Providing companionship and a loving presence to our guests
• Assisting with walking, moving, position changes, etc.
• Assisting with personal hygiene care (mouth care, bathroom assistance, grooming, etc.)
• Giving and overseeing medication as directed
• Meal preparation and light house hold tasks (cleaning bath rooms, mopping floors, washing dishes, doing laundry, dusting, etc.)
• Answering the phone and door as needed
• Effective communication and a team player mentality
• Assisting with other tasks similar to what a family caregiver would provide.
