Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking an Overnight Camp Counselor/Lifeguard for the King's Lake Camp. You will reside at the camp site during the season, provide leadership to a group of campers, and oversee waterfront activities to ensure safety and program goals are met.

Responsibilities include guiding daily routines, conducting devotions, and coordinating with staff while upholding camp policies and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass all background checks required by The Salvation Army.
• Camp experience preferred.
• Ability to work with campers ages 7 and older.
• Must perform duties efficiently and demonstrate good judgment.
• Room and board provided; must stay at camp during sessions.
• Provide proof of Lifeguard Training Certification, including First Aid, CPR, AED and Waterfront Skills certification.
• Prior Lifeguard experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and care for a group of approximately 6-10 campers.
• Supervise waterfront activities and ensure safety.
• Conduct daily devotions for camper groups.
• Maintain cleanliness of cabin living areas and organize daily routines.
• Assist in camp programs and participate in all activities.
• Ensure camper and staff safety and adherence to camp policies.
• Develop positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and campers.
