Job summary

Wegmans in Charlottesville, VA is seeking an overnight bakery team member to support daytime operations, bake products, take orders, and ensure the freshest items are ready for display.

You will provide excellent customer service, keep shelves stocked, and may unload deliveries as needed in a fast-paced grocery setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in a fast-paced bakery environment preferred.
• Ability to bake products, take orders, and prepare items for display by slicing, packaging and labeling the products.
• Comfortable with standing and lifting up to 50 pounds as needed.

Work Environment: The physical demands of this work are classified as medium to heavy. Work includes walking, standing for up to 4 hours without a break, repetitive hand and arm movements, occasional heavy lifting, bending, and reaching, along with continuous interaction with customers and coworkers in a fast-paced environment. The average weight range of items lifted is 5 – 20 pounds with a maximum weight lifted of greater than 50 pounds occasionally. You may receive assistance with heavy items, if available. Upper extremity repetition is moderate and trunk movement involves moderate to moderately high twisting, bending, and pivoting. May be exposed to various allergens (things that may cause an allergic reaction). The work environment is indoors and involves exposure to various work environments, including cold (33 – 55 degrees), freezing (-20 – 20 degrees) and hot temperatures (exceeds 85 degrees with work surfaces or equipment that exceeds 135 degrees).
