Job summary

The New School's College of Performing Arts is seeking an Overhire Master Electrician to support Mannes, Jazz, and Drama productions on campus. This role oversees lighting systems, assists with budgeting, and collaborates with the Full-Time Master Electrician to ensure safe, effective lighting on stage and in venues.

This is an on-site, as-needed position with no guaranteed weekly hours. A strong background in ETC EOS, Paradigm, AutoCAD/Vectorworks, and safety procedures is essential.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of previous experience as a master electrician is required.
• Ability to read and execute light plots.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks.
• Strong expertise in ETC EOS environment, ETC networking software, Paradigm controls, and LED lighting units.

Responsibilities

• Implement the lighting designs for Mannes, Jazz, and Drama productions.
• Work with the Full-Time Master Electrician to evaluate costs and feasibility of lighting designs.
• Oversee repair and maintenance of lighting equipment and systems in Mannes, Jazz, and Drama venues.
• Assist with class concerts or small productions as assigned.
• Supervise the lighting hang, focus & strikes for Mannes, Jazz, and Drama Productions as assigned.
• Strategize on budget and lighting needs in coordination with the Full-Time Master Electrician.
