Job summary

Kennedy-King College seeks a part-time Coordinator for the Skilled Trades Lab in the Overhead Electrical Line Worker program. You will train students in high voltage line work, operate and supervise lab equipment, and assist instructors across classroom and lab activities.

Responsibilities include preparing labs, ensuring safety, maintaining tools, and supporting student recruitment and scheduling. Prior teaching or lab supervision experience is a plus; OSHA 10 is required.

Qualifications

• Completion of an Electrical Line Worker program.
• Two years of experience as an overhead electrical line worker preferred but not necessary.
• OSHA 10 safety certification with electrical and distribution systems (ET&D).
• Knowledge and ability to demonstrate safety and rescue techniques and PPE usage.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up and prepares indoor and outdoor lab environment for demonstration and practice of techniques.
• Demonstrates OELW climbing techniques and use of power equipment in a lab setting.
• Assists instructors with lab activities and coordinates with classroom instruction.
• Inspects and maintains equipment and supplies; manages inventory.
• Supports recruitment, tours, and student interviews as needed.
• Participates in program and departmental meetings.
