Job summary

Thayer Infrastructure Services (TIS) and its affiliated companies is seeking a skilled Distribution Designer to support the design and modeling of overhead distribution systems using pole loading analysis software. This role involves configuring pole structures, analyzing loading conditions, and ensuring compliance with safety codes and client-specific standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience with pole load analysis tools (DDS, O-Calc Pro, PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc) and a solid

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Electrical Design, Utility Design, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in utility distribution design.
• Knowledge of NESC and IEEE standards and local utility regulations.

Responsibilities

• Design overhead distribution poles using pole loading software (DDS, O-Calc Pro, PoleForeman, SPIDAcalc).
• Configure pole structures per client standards and field conditions.
• Add/model conductors, equipment, and joint-use attachments.
• Perform clearance and pole loading analysis.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and field crews.
