Job summary

STRIVE Recruitment Inc. is seeking a Technical Service Manager in Lancaster, NY to lead and develop a team of Overhead Crane Service Technicians, delivering timely, reliable service and coordinating with estimators on quotes and projects.

You will train technicians, troubleshoot complex crane issues, manage service work, and maintain strong customer relationships, with travel to client sites and on-call emergency support.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Previous overhead crane experience.
• Strong technical expertise in crane systems and equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage, coach, and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel to customer sites for service visits and inspections, and respond to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor Overhead Crane Service Technicians through onsite, hands-on training.
• Provide technical guidance during troubleshooting and resolution of crane issues.
• Perform onsite crane service work and participate in on-call rotations.
• Assist the Service Manager with assigning technicians to jobs based on skills and experience.
• Ensure jobs are completed within estimated parameters and coordinate with estimators for adjustments.
• Maintain strong relationships with customers and address service concerns.
• Support development of overhead crane service sales and prepare quotations.
• Conduct onsite visits to gather information for quotations and modification projects.
• Follow up with customers regarding Purchase Orders and prepare work orders.
• Provide technicians with clear direction on work type and location.
• Prepare scopes of work for modification projects and support standard procedures.
• Stay current with industry trends and crane technologies; ensure OHSA compliance.
