Job summary

Handling Systems & Conveyors, a provider of overhead bridge cranes and conveyors, seeks a mid‑level to experienced Service Technician for the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Responsibilities include inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing crane systems, communicating with customers and performing preventive maintenance within established timeframes.

Candidates must pass a drug/alcohol test and background check. Occasional travel, weekends and overtime may be required to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Experience inspecting, troubleshooting and repairing overhead crane systems.
• Ability to read drawings and electrical diagrams.
• Willingness to work off shifts, weekends, and travel as needed.
• Must pass drug/alcohol test and extensive background check.

Responsibilities

• Perform Scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Interface with customer and HSC service to communicate maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
• Inspect, evaluate and recommend repairs based on OSHA/CMMA/NEC/ANSI guidelines.
• Maintain professional rapport with customer by responding to breakdowns and completing jobs within timeframes.
• Communicate with the customer on repairs and preventive maintenance requirements.

• Manufacture of Overhead Bridge cranes and a Full line of conveyors (Power& Free, Chain, & Slat)
• HSC was established in 1992
• Home office: Mabelvale, Arkansas
• Manufacturing/Service Locations: Mabelvale, AR & Ft. Worth, TX
• Service Locations: Troy, AL & Houston, TX
• HSC Offers professional engineering services with communications and documentation
• HSC uses 3D Autodesk Inventor software for intricate product design.
• All Structural components are built to AWS D14.1 with and inhouse AWS inspector

HSC is a fast-growing company with immediate openings in the Dallas/Fort Worth for an mid-level to experiencedOverhead Hoist/Crane Technician with strong customer focus & the desire to go the extra mile. Field Service Technicians are primarily responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting & repairing overhead crane systems. Familiarity with gear drives, bearings, couplings, wire rope hoist, chain hoist, VFD controls, remote control systems as well as other crane & hoist components.

• Candidates must pass drug/alcohol test and extensive background check prior to employment. Additional testing may be required as directed by customer.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

• Perform Scheduled preventive maintenance
• Effectively interface with customer and HSC customer service to communicate maintenance, repairs and upgrades.
• Inspect, Evaluate and make professional recommendations of repairs base on industry guidelines (OSHA, CMMA, NEC & ANCI)
• Maintain professional rapport with customer by efferently responding to breakdowns, troubleshooting issues and completing job within acceptable timeframe.
• Communicate with the customer on the repairs and any recommend preventive maintenance and/or inspection that may be required to monitor the crane system

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• Ability to work under pressure and with deadlines
• Ability to work independently
• Ability to fabricate and weld (certified) is a plus
• Ability to perform inspection to OSHA/ANSI criteria
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits
• Ability to disassemble and reassemble complex equipment
• Ability to read drawings and electrical diagrams
• Must be able to work at heights (20-100+ feet)
• Must follow all safety guidelines

Additional Requirements:

• Must be willing & able to work off shifts and weekends as required by the customer
• Must be able to work overtime as need by customer
• Must be able to serve “on call” as part of the service office rotation
• Must be able to travel out of town and overnight as needed
• Must be able to frequently lift 25 lbs
• Must be able to occasionally lift 50 lbs
• Position requires frequent climbing, balancing, stooping/crouching & overhead reaching
• Position requires occasional pushing, pulling, kneeling & crawling.
• Position will frequently be exposed to heat, cold, noise and heights
